“This Scherzo, the second movement from Sergei Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata Op. 94, was later arranged by Prokofiev for violin and piano, with the other movements. PEP has now arranged it for the erhu and is thrilled to include it here with Prokofiev’s grandson Gabriel’s own work. Grandfather’s movement is fast and full of a pinball machine of offbeat accents, a beautiful cristalline middle section, and sparkling energy bolts at the conclusion.” - PEP (Piano and Erhu Project)
